We opened Northamptonshire’s first dedicated arts academy for adults with learning disabilities in 2017 and haven’t looked back!

At The Cube Disability Arts Academy we embrace everyone’s talents and abilities, and the centre provides a space in which our clients can truly shine.

Those who attend the Arts Academy are given the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised Asdan certifications.

We are excited to tell you all that we are partnered with Front and Centre to bring the West End directly to our clients.

Front and Centre are a company that launched in 2020 founded by Alex Hetherington and Charlotte Warren to bring West End professional training to children up and down the country. They currently run West End training programmes in 4 different locations up and down the country in Essex, Leicester, Edinburgh, and Manchester.

Alex and Charlotte are also currently in the industry right now with Alex currently appearing on tour with Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and Charlotte most recently appearing in Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Front and Centre have a huge pool of West End professionals on their books including performers from Frozen the musical, Hamilton including Charlie Stemp as their patron who is currently appearing as Bert in Mary Poppins on the West End.

Team Arts

We pride ourselves on appointing suitable trained staff. In line with current legislation, every member of staff is Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and was interviewed by our clients as part of our recruitment process.

Our Arts Academy is managed by our Arts Academy Centre Manager Freya York, who has built strong relationships with our clients and their families/carers during their time at The Cube Disability. Freya manages a team of dedicated support workers who consistently go above and beyond to help our clients. Jordan Goodenough is our Arts Director, who runs our daily classes and choreographs our shows in April and September at Derngate.

Everyone works hard to ensure our clients get the best service.
