The Cube Disability, Clarke Road

Our second provision in Abington was officially opened by professional dancer Louie Spence in March 2020. It is a beautifully modern space, split across two rooms – one containing a large open-plan kitchen area, and the other a purpose-built dance studio with a built-in Sonos sound system.

Our Clarke Road provision became the benchmark for all other provisions, which we transformed during 2021 to mimic it by adding stylish graffiti art and newly fitted kitchens.

As at all of our provisions, clients at Clarke Road are encouraged to participate in all activities, regardless of their abilities, with the help of our capable team of support staff.

There is a fun and energetic vibe at our Clarke Road provision and clients enjoy getting arty, playing sports including cricket, football and mini golf, playing board games, and using the kitchen to cook and bake.

Our staff also provide interactive educational sessions including maths activities, science experiments and quizzes.

It is located just a stones throw from Abington Park and a short walk from the Racecourse, so we regularly make use of these for walks, sports and games. We love getting out in the community and, because they are just a street away, we can meet up with clients from the Cube on Roe Road and share spaces/activities with them.

Our minibus is used to transport clients from Clarke Road to wherever we are hosting sports, trips, and activities, if not within walking distance.

As well as running our popular day service from our Clarke Road provision, we also use it as the base for The Cube Disability Kids on Saturday mornings.

We pride ourselves on appointing suitable trained staff. In line with current legislation, every member of staff is Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and was interviewed by our clients as part of our recruitment process.

Our Clarke Road provision is run by our amazing team who has built strong relationships with our clients and their families/carers during her time at The Cube Disability. The team of dedicated support workers who consistently go above and beyond to help our clients.
